It could happen..

My wife thinks I'm such a geek. Playing a DnD computer game online in a make believe world with a make believe character to influence events and write history for this world doesn't make me a geek... does it?

If only I really WAS allowed to walk around in full plate armor carrying a sword fighting demons and dragons... I'd definitely not be a geek then!

Don't start without me!

So... I finally caved and decided to start a blog. Everyone else is doing it, why should they have all the fun? Plus, if I am going to take over the internet, I have to start somewhere. So, I now officially stake a claim to a tiny tiny speck of the digital world!

I guess now would be an appropriate time to give a quick intro to get all the awkwardness out of the way. Umm.. my name is Doug. I'm married to my beautiful wife, Melissa. I'm the father of two amazing little girls and a 3rd daughter on the way in October (yeah, I'm soooo totally screwed its not even funny *sob*). Let's see.. I work in IT as a systems administrator and I'm probably considered geeky by most people including my wife. I don't care what they say though, playing DnD, computer games, and liking math/science does not make you geeky! I'm probably not helping my case much here. I'll add that I love playing with my kids, playing soccer, working on cars, playing guitar and about another fifty hobbies that I move between in a completely aimless and random fashion.

Now that the awkward intros are over, its time to celebrate my initial step into the blog world with a rave! I've even included a video to teach everyone here how to dance. I'm partial to the more advanced combinations like "Tjernobyl Child, Lost in the Woods (with a bewildered stare)" I don't know that my coworkers appreciate it as much when I stand up randomly and break out the advanced moves in the office. I think secretly they're jealous...
